SmartLaser Lift combines new laser technology with traditional techniques to give Dr. Keith LaFerriere's patients long-lasting, natural-looking results…faster. And it's available in southwest, Missouri and northwest Arkansas from a respected board-certified facial plastic surgeon!
What SmartLaser Lift technology means for you and your face:
We will be available to answer all of your questions over the phone or during consultations at our facial plastic surgery center in Springfield MO or our office in Rogers Arkansas. To help you prepare for your consultation, we have also provided the following list of common questions about facial rejuvenation and SmartLaser Lift asked by patients during their initial meeting with Dr. Keith LaFerriere and his team.
Is SmartLaser Lift the same as the "Lifestyle Lift" advertised on television?
No, not at all. Although those commercials may make it sound otherwise, the only thing that Lifestyle Lift® and SmartLaser Lift have in common is that they are both outpatient procedures that involve a laser. It pays to do your homework before making this important decision.
Will I still look like "me" after a SmartLaser Lift?
As a facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Keith LaFerriere has earned a national reputation beyond Springfield MO, Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas for enhancing appearance while maintaining the patient's unique look. Our facial rejuvenation patients often report receiving comments like: "You look great, did you do something to your hair?"...."Have you lost weight?".... or "Have you been on vacation?"
How will I know what kind of results to expect from SmartLaser Lift?
You can take a glimpse into the future to see how you may look! During your consultation, Dr. LaFerriere will use a digital imaging system to show you the type of results you can reasonably expect from SmartLaser Lift laser facelift or any other facial plastic surgery procedure he recommends, such as a traditional facelift, lower facelift, necklift, or eyelid surgery.
Does the SmartLaser Lift leave scars?
Since only a few small incisions are involved, you can expect only a few small scars, but you and Dr. LaFerriere may be the only ones who know where they are. Dr. LaFerriere is careful to make incisions in a way that makes it possible for you to wear your hair in any style after a SmartLaser Lift without exposing the scars to view.
Is Dr. LaFerriere qualified to perform a SmartLaser Lift?
Dr. LaFerriere is a board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Please take a moment to review his qualifications and accomplishments. His Board Certifications, education, and facial plastic surgery training, research experience, extensive medical publications, and ongoing continuing medical education all contribute to Dr. LaFerriere's skill and success.
Is the SmartLaser Lift facial plastic surgery procedure safe?
This is one of the first questions our patients usually ask during consultations. Like all surgery, there are certain risks involved; however, facial plastic surgery risks and problems are fairly uncommon. In comparison to a traditional facelift procedure, SmartLaser Lift:
Please do not hesitate to inquire about risks during your consultation. We will be happy to provide information about possible risks associated with any facial plastic surgery procedure you may be considering, including SmartLaser Lift.
What should I expect during the consultation?
During your facial plastic surgery consultation:
When can I return to work?
Restrictions from work are generally one to two weeks for minor surgery and two to three weeks for multiple procedures or more extensive facial plastic surgery. As less swelling and bruising are associated with the SmartLaser Lift procedure, many patients find themselves comfortable in going back to work and resuming most of their normal activity sooner. However, it is important to avoid aerobic activity, bending, lifting, and straining during the postoperative period.
When can I exercise?
Aerobic activity can slow your recovery after facial plastic surgery by increasing the time it takes for swelling to subside. For this reason, we advise patients to avoid strenuous activity for approximately four weeks after surgery.
What if I'm not ready for SmartLaser Lift...what are my options?
There are a variety of non-surgical facial rejuvenation options available to enhance your appearance. If you feel you are not ready for the SmartLaser Lift procedure or if you have a preexisting medical condition that would prevent you from having surgery, our aesthetic Team can help you explore non-surgical options. One of the many benefits of our aesthetic skin care treatments is that most of the procedures, including dermal fillers, are temporary. You can "test the waters" until you are ready for a more permanent change. Many of our patients even receive skin treatments on their lunch hour and return to work immediately.
How much will my facial plastic surgery cost?
Facial plastic surgery and facial rejuvenation used to be considered a luxury reserved only for the wealthy, but these days surgical and non-surgical procedures are most often sought by middle-income patients. If you have questions about the cost of facial plastic surgery and other facial rejuvenation options, the best time to evaluate fees is during your initial consultation. One of the reasons it is difficult to give financial quotes ahead of time is that a prospective patient may be misled. Quoting a fee to you for SmartLaser Lift or any other procedure implies that it is the correct procedure for you. The reality is that many of our patients go into their consultation with questions about the cost of one procedure only to discover that they may be a better candidate for a completely different facial rejuvenation procedure. To avoid misunderstandings about the costs of facial plastic surgery, it is always best to discuss costs at the same time you discuss your treatment with Dr. LaFerriere. Most importantly, we want to answer your questions and we want to know about any special needs you have. If you have a question or concern, probably others have the same concern, so your questions about facial plastic surgery and facial rejuvenation will help other patients as well. Ask away…we look forward to hearing from you!
How will I know which treatment is best for me?
As a facial plastic surgeon, Dr. LaFerriere is uniquely qualified to advise you on how best to address the effects of aging. During your consultation, he will recommend a facial rejuvenation treatment plan after a thorough evaluation of your health and discussion of your aesthetic goals. No single procedure is right for every patient, so it is important to determine the best fit for your needs.
